The smallest and wealthiest of the desert communities, Indian Wells full time population of 5,000 doubles in the winter months as part time residents flock to the area from colder climates.  Don't expect to pay less than $600,000 for a single family detached residence or less than $300,000 for a condo.  And it goes up...way up...from there.  Indian Wells is home of the famous Eldorado Country Club, the Indian Wells Country Club, Desert Horizons Country Club, The Vintage Club and The Reserve.

Indian Wells residents get terrific discounted rates at the just renovated Indian Wells Resort golf courses (36 holes), which were built by the City of Indian Wells to serve city residents along with guests of the city's two major convention hotels, the Hyatt Grand Champions and the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort.  This is just one example of how the area's reputation as a premier tourist and golf destination benefits those who choose to live here as well.  The other clear example is the wonderful choices in restaurants that could not survive on resident business alone, but which thrive on the combination of residential and tourist trade.  Indian Wells residents also get free use of the health club at the Hyatt.
