The late President Gerald Ford lived here in a country club, and President Ronald Reagan came every winter to celebrate New Year's Eve with his friend Walter Annenburg so you'll know that you are in good company. Rancho Mirage was the first desert community to encourage and embrace the country club living concept...and it has some legendary ones. Names like Thunderbird (the car was named after this country club), Tamarisk, Sunrise, Mission Hills and The Springs mark lush and guarded country club entrances off roadways named after Bob Home, Frank Sinatra and Dinah Shore.
You'll also find many single family residences in gated or non-gated neighborhoods to choose from. Betty Ford has her clinic here on the grounds of the Eisenhower Medical Center. Be sure to visit "The River," an upscale shopping, dining and entertainment center with a man-made river running through it. Are you getting the picture?
You'll love Rancho Mirage and with only 15,000 people it is one of the smallest of the desert cities.
